FGCL AFFILIATES WITH NISA

In a pivotal moment for South Florida soccer, the Florida Gold Coast League (FGCL) has officially affiliated with the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). NISA was founded in 2017 and is recognized as a 3rd division professional league by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). This collaboration opens up significant opportunities for players and clubs.

"Our affiliation with NISA reflects our continued commitment to the open game and player and club development. It is also reminiscent of our former association with the Fort Lauderdale Stikers. We are advocates for the promotion and relegation system and the league had some drawbacks since the early 2000s in part due to the lack of a proper pyramid. We our currently rebuild the Florida Gold Coast League to beyond its former glory. You don’t really get professional leagues looking to collaborate even with their presence here in South Florida, this is truly a wonderful opportunity for the region.”

Beyond matches and tournaments, the affiliation represents a strategic alliance where resources are shared between from NISA Nation. This collaborative approach aims to fortify FGCL, creating an environment conducive to sustained growth and success.

Adding to the significance of the affiliation, FGCL will potentially have the honor of hosting the National Championship.

This affiliation aligns seamlessly with FGCL's strategic plans to build out the league system, extending beyond local competitions to integrate with leagues throughout Florida. The collaborative approach aims to create a unified soccer ecosystem benefiting players, clubs, and fans across the state.

It signifies a commitment to professionalism, development, and the open game philosophy. As this partnership unfolds, South Florida can anticipate a soccer renaissance from grassroots to the professional arena, creating a lasting legacy to be remembered and celebrated.
